Does anyone have experience buying a UK LLP?

Hi all, we've reached agreement to buy a LLP in UK. Who has experience buying LLP's and converting to LTD? Should it be done prior to closing or should we (buyers) create a new LTD and buy the LLP?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
