Does anyone have experience in acquiring a machine shop business?

With no previous experience in that industry, I am looking for machine shop assessment methodology, potential of growth and main drivers of growth assessment, valuation methodology, type of supports needed from previous owners after acquisition, etc.

I guess this is not a space you are familiar with, from the foregoing, you are looking at running it and that is finding yourself a new job rather than owning a business.
