Looking to understand the type of companies they have and if it's worth joining. Thanks.

Thanks @luke and hi all. Happy to chat with anyone or refer you to my team as you explore various sourcing options. We realize there are lots of options and approaches out there to LMM deal sourcing.

We like the buyside fee model because of how it aligns us. We don't win unless our clients are ready to stake their own capital and that of LPs on a deal. Of course there are other models too that can work.

There are some comments in this thread about how you can find deals via Axial that are available directly via the brokers / bankers. In some cases, that's definitely true. In other cases, the bankers / brokers have opted to work exclusively via Axial based on the double-opt-in aspect of Axial, which gives the sell-side a lot more control than bizbuysell and its lookalikes. Others work exclusively with Axial because of the buyer network we've established, which they indicate as being more professional and competent than what they experience elsewhere.

Final item: when you set up your sourcing configurations on Axial, you can upload any broker or brokerage whom you don't want to work with via Axial. This feature blocks that broker from finding you via Axial. It is used by hundreds of our members to avoid duplicative dealflow sourcing on Axial.

Hope these notes add to the conversation and aren't inappropriately salesy. Best, Peter redacted

In my experience Axial is very feast or famine. There have been stretches where I encounter a bunch of fantastic deals and get looks at businesses that I wouldn't otherwise see and there have also been stretches where it seems like nothing but low quality deal flow. I think if you are looking for something in manufacturing / fabrication there are a lot of opportunities to see deals in that space but if you are very focused on a specific niche then it might not be worth your time. If you maintain a broad perspective and go into it with a view that Axial is one component of deal flow then I think it is worth signing up for. Additionally, I've found the team at Axial to be great to work with. ^redacted‌ happy to make an intro if you want more information, they are very responsive.
