Does anyone have experience with tax preparation services?

I'm looking at this market segment, but I have heard mixed things about these owners selling to buyers without CPA/tax expertise (like myself).

Questions:
1. Has anyone here successfully executed a deal in this segment without a tax/CPA background?
2. If so, how did you negotiate on this point? And how have you operated the business post-acquisition?
