Does anyone here outsource first-pass deal screening?
I've been building my independent sponsor for the past few years, and one thing I've noticed is how much time goes into the first review of a deal. Going through CIMs, financials, websites, management presentations, identifying red flags, preparing questions for management, and deciding whether it's even worth moving forward. I'm considering building a service focused on technology companies (SaaS, MSPs, IT Services, Cybersecurity, Software, etc.) where I'd act as an outsourced first-pass acquisition analyst. Curious how other searchers and independent sponsors handle this today: - Do you review every deal yourself? - Do you have an analyst or someone on your team doing the first pass? - Would you ever consider outsourcing the initial screening if the quality was high? - What would you expect from a service like this?
