I am look at acquiring multi-unit medical services (medspas and pain clinics) and wanted to understand the state-by-state nuisances of doctor participation / ownership / operating role / etc.

Can anyone recommend a legal advisory team that is versed in this topic? Is there any reading materials out there that cover this topic / regulatory landscape?

Thanks for the tag, ^redacted‌! ^redacted‌, I've considered doing some things in this space in Illinois, myself, and know a medical doctor who had started, grew, and sold a network of ER facilities in Texas. He's quite supportive of other people's pursuit of their own entrepreneurial dreams, so I might be able to introduce you if you'd like. Also, I have some state law surveys on topics related to your inquiry that may be helpful to you. Feel free to reach out.

OY Welcome to the Jungle. You are very brave. I would be a little hesitant to use one law firm for information across every state in the union. There are a lot of varied nuances depending on the state and having a lawyer in that state with certain real-world knowledge vs just legal law knowledge, will be very helpful. I know a few in NY that I work with if you need some recommendations.
I am currently in that space (operationally) as one of the things I do and so feel free to reach out with any questions..
