Hi All,
Does anyone have info about significant changes coming to machine shops operating in the A&D LMM sector. Forgive me if they are already here. I'm trying to learn all I can about those serving as subcontractors to OEMs in the A&D sector. Changes that because of the level of automation, would allow shops that could afford the technology to greatly increase production and accuracy while reducing manpower as it relates to the number of machinists required to run the shop. For example one computer running several stations simultaneously, and linking several shops together in a lean supply chain software application elimination unnecessary inventories. Something that might encourage OEMs to buy their own lean machine shops.

Please forgive me and don't worry about telling me this was done 10 years ago. I appreciate any sharing anyone might have the time to kindly extend.

Stay Safe###-###-#### Many Thanks

Jimmy

I'm not sure if this helps, but with regard to "Digital Transformation", NI has some heft:

Yes, changes are coming. Not only what’s previously mentioned but the last two administrations have directed manufacturing to be on-shored. The next 5 years will be an uptick in that space
