A private equity firm I have a relationship with would like to engage me on a consulting basis to support their due diligence on sizable lower middle market acquisitions. Scope would include evaluating financial information, building financial models, etc. Anybody know what the going hourly rate is for that type of consulting? Hoping to ground my fee quote in some type of market data.

Hi ^redacted‌- I think I'm in a good position to help here. I run DueDilio, a leading marketplace to hire highly vetted M&A due diligence service providers. We've facilitated over 200 projects over LTM so I have great visibility on pricing. Broadly, I'm seeing independent professionals charge anywhere from $90 to $350 per hour for this type of work. If you have a lot of experience, I'd suggest charging somewhere above $175/hr. If you'd like to discuss, feel free to e-mail me redacted - take a look at DueDilio.com. Maybe you would be interested in joining as a service provider.

When I was in a mid size consulting firm I was billed out at $###-###-#### an hour for transaction advisory work. Depends on your experience and qualifications but can vary. Big 4 charges substantially more and local firms significantly less
