effectiveness of approachs to eldery business owners
Interested to see if anyone has some data of approaches to elderly owners ( 70+) - are they receptive or are the accountants the big gatekeepers?

In my experience, I have not viewed accountants as gatekeepers, per se, for these potential sellers. My advise to those sellers is to consult with their accountants only with regard to the tax consequenses of various proposed structures for a possible sale. A seller's reluctance to sell because of the tax implications can usually be alleviated by appropriately structuring the deal. Gatekeepers more often seem to occur in the form of partners and family members.
