I'm looking at a large/grand format commercial printing company (e.g., signs, banners, wraps, etc). Looking to learn more about operating and growing a business in this space. If you have prior experience in this sector please DM me. Thanks.

David -Would be happy to discuss. I have operated in a segment of the printing industry for the past few years. Large format graphics is a healthy segment with high margins and continues to prove its value in a digitally saturated world. COVID hurts elements of large format (trade shows, in person events) - however, many of the companies I know made windfalls in 2020 due to the increased demand for retail signage, flooring labels, etc. etc..

The key pitfall to be aware of in print more generally is that there is tremendous diversity in the end product, and much of the capital equipment is specific to certain products. Basically if you buy the wrong equipment (or acquire a company with the wrong equipment) it is very costly and sometimes impossible to reposition in order to compete in other market/product segments.

We are minority shareholder in a flexo printing plate manufacturer that has a subsidiary in screen printing durable decals (fleet graphics, for example). DM redacted
