As part of our preliminary due diligence of an acquisition candidate, we are looking for an outside service provider to run an online survey to current and former customers of the target (and the target's primary competitors) to better understand customer sentiment, key purchasing criteria, and propensity/difficulty of switching to a competitor. (As context, the acquisition candidate is a SaaS business). We've reached out to Guidepoint, GLG, and NewtonX to solicit proposals. If you have experience using a service provider to run these types of surveys, I'd be grateful for any referrals beyond these 3 firms as well as understanding what your provider charged and whether you were satisfied with the outcome.

My firm WHIZDOM has been conducting Customer Due Diligence interviews with B2B Customers for years. Interviews, rather than surveys, are better to get qualitative information from B2B Customers. As an independent third party, we are able to get the list of current and former Customers from the Seller. Thank you everyone for this input. I should have been clearer to indicate that we do not have a list of the target company's current or former customers. Thus, we would be looking for a survey company that already has a large network of survey respondents who are B2B software buyers in the target vertical. Thus, sourcing of the survey respondents is the key value-add we are seeking from the service provider. So far in my research, GLG and Guidepoint are the only 2 firms with existing large networks that I've found.
