Dear Andrea, sourcing it's basically an account management job. You must identify potential market segment to prioritize and set up some KPI to quantitatively evaluate each and every prospect. Then, when you have a scorecard, you just have to prioritize you outreach efforts on the companies you think are the best fit for your KPIs. It's all about building a funnel of potential leads that turns into a conversation first, then a potential list of interested company, till you send out non binding offers to the company you're interested in. Don't hesitate to reach me out in private if you'll be further in the process and you want to share some other questions or reflections.

^redacted‌ thanks for the tag. I would first recommend deciding what EtA path you want to go down. Self Funded, traditional or sponsored are the main three options. They all have pros and cons and you should evaluate what makes sense for you. There are a lot of materials out there but I would recommend reading AJ Wasserstein’s cases available on his website and jimsteinsharpe.com. Since you went IESE you should reach out to professors there as well as it is the main hub for search funds in Europe. Please feel free to DM me if you want to have a discussion.
