What is Searchfunder.com?

Searchfunder.com is an online community of searchers, investors, lenders, brokers and other professionals. Over 80% of those involved in searchfunds maintain a Searchfunder account to help them network, hire, and mentor others.

What are the benefits of membership?

In addition to accessing the most active online network of business buyers, Searchfunder licenses research that is simply not cost effective for individuals. Access over 15,000 industry reports and 50,000 transaction financials. You also get monthly credits for contact information for your company sourcing campaign with the option to purchase more at drastically discounted rates. Searchfunder has pre-purchased access from these data providers in order to empower individual buyers and to help searchers level the playing field versus private equity.

While we are primarily a buy-side network, we do have hundreds of brokers that regularly post deals to the community.

Are there topics on which we should focus (e.g, more searcher-CEO experiences, international searching, etc)? Do you have specific questions you'd like answered? Other feedback? Hi Karen, it would be great to add in a video section that would include US and Global search fund events most of us are not able to attend (e.g. Booth ETA conferences).

Karen, thanks for doing these interviews. I've found that they provide a good deal of insight on many levels. My suggestions as you kick off 2018 are: (1) Create a section on Searchfunder where the interviews can be accessed easily by subject/interviewee/topic, etc. lest they get lost in the Timeline; (2) Jon Herzog's interview gave me the idea for this next suggestion: To the extent folks are willing to share, please see if you could interview folks about broken deals or discontinued searches who can discuss why either their deals under LOI failed, or their search was discontinued, and how they dealt with the aftermath.. There would be phenomenal teachings in those discussions; and (3) Include interviews discussing the due diligence process, along with the sharing of best practices or lessons learned. On this last point, we should consider adding best practices and/or subject matter expert sections to the Resources page of Searchfunder.
