I'm a former banker and business broker. I went back to my roots as a financial advisor for business owners. My firm provides value management and wealth management to business owners. Part of that involves business valuation. The goal is to use the valuation to apply to their financial plan for estate, retirement, and exit planning. I also use the valuation and accompanying models I build for forecasting, analysis, and support for data driven planning. Like FP&A for SMB's. I'm enabling owners to make decisions informed by insights based on reliable data. To get started I need good data which includes clean books for historical reports. This is where I get to my point. I noticed that many deals fail due to bad financials. Or misunderstandings about what is truly there. I believe, that sometimes, this comes from poor bookkeeping and accounting practices in the target firm. So, I'm providing an addition service to help owners by establishing or cleaning up their books. This is as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. This will enable clean reports that can be easily recast, normalized, and used as good inputs for financial models. This provides: - Clean books - Accurate models - Easier valuations - Easier financial due diligence - Easier planning for owners (Business and personal) Do you believe that is a needed service? No additional bookkeeping or accounting. Just *** establish and/or clean the books and produce clean reports ***. How much would you pay or advise a client to pay for this knowing this process will help reduce risk, potentially bring higher offers, and speed up due diligence?

I would use the reports to build the models myself. The models are separate service: 3-statements with forecasts, valuation, analysis, and a project relevant dashboard. Ending with recommendations and ongoing consulting for value management (Planning for growth, sale or transfer of business, raising capital, etc.).

How much would you charge for something like this?
