This is my very first post here, so go easy on me! Excited to jump in and connect with other like minded folks. I'm a blue collar self funded searcher, originally from Cleveland, OH, but based in Los Angeles for the past 15 years. I'm actively working on moving to and acquiring a business in San Diego, CA. I've done the work to define my search criteria, but would love to connect on a few short calls with others who can share insights on the following: 1. How you fine tuned your search and decided on an industry, especially if you acquired outside of your prior experience. 2. How you managed working capital and cash flow planning during the first year post acquisition (particularly as a first time operator) 3. While I started with the plan of going 100% self funded, I'd love to take a few calls with investors looking to have some early conversations and explore whether there is a fit. For context, I'm targeting businesses with 500k+ SDE, ideally 1MM+ SDE, not interested in anything retail or a company that is highly dependent on a single physical location, and primarily focused on B2B or service based businesses. I'm a serious searcher with funds ready to deploy, just looking to fill in a few gray areas as I get my search underway. I'd really appreciate connecting with folks and will be respectful of your time. *At this time, I'm only interested in connecting with operators or investors, not looking for conversations with 3rd party service providers at this time* Best, Ryan

Your biggest risk is explaining to people how you're going to be able to successfully migrate (i.e., bridge) your business experience into any kind of business that is not very close to what you've done during your career. We could zoom if you need to know how to do that.
