If you are running a construction, cargo, or modular home business in the region of Los Angeles, there is an opportunity to apply for emergency permits to help stabilize the houses affected by the landslide in Rancho Palos Verdes.
As you might have seen in the news, there are more than 200 houses in RPV that have been cut off from gas and electricity in the aftermath of a landslide earlier this year. Some of the houses are damaged, although most are not. The city has approved emergency fee waivers to bring in contractors to install temporary measures to preserve houses and temporary housing on properties within the Portuguese Bend Landslide. Temporary solutions include placing homes on cargo structures and other leveling systems, such as I-beams, installing alternative foundation systems, and using temporary modular housing and storage while repairs are made. Fees for the permits are being waived during the emergency. This is an opportunity to get business and help the large community in an emergency state.

Interesting post, but I don't have anything to add. Seems like a local issue.
