We are looking for an entrepreneurial investment professional to help build a new hybrid family office/private investment platform from the ground up. The platform is backed by a successful entrepreneur who intends to provide meaningful anchor capital, alongside select outside investors. This could be a particularly compelling opportunity for someone who has considered entrepreneurship through acquisition but prefers to help build a broader platform rather than conduct a solo search. The role will work directly with me and the anchor investor across the full investment lifecycle: • Developing relationships with brokers and intermediaries • Sourcing and screening acquisition opportunities • Reviewing CIMs and identifying priority targets • Building operating and acquisition models • Evaluating financing alternatives • Coordinating financial, legal, and operational diligence • Preparing investment recommendations • Visiting businesses and meeting owners and management teams • Helping build the platform's investment processes and infrastructure This is not a narrow modeling or execution position. The right person will have significant responsibility, direct exposure to decision-makers, and the opportunity to help shape the strategy and culture of the platform. We are seeking an experienced investment professional with 5+ years of relevant experience across lower-middle-market private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, independent sponsors, or the ETA/search fund ecosystem. The candidate should be able to independently review CIMs, build acquisition and financing models, manage diligence workstreams, and interact credibly with brokers, lenders, owners, and advisors. The position will be U.S.-based (ideally in the mid-Atlantic), with flexibility regarding location and an expectation of periodic travel.
