Hey All - we are currently evaluating a franchise resale in the construction/home services. The franchisor has provided the FDD, but I would also like an extra pair of eyes on it from a legal standpoint. Does anyone have recommendations for lawyers in this space? If anyone has any additional tips for evaluating franchise - please feel free to share as well. Thank you!

Sorry, I don't have a franchise lawyer but I do think the FA is pretty non-negotiable so any work involving a lawyer may not be worth the spend beyond a cheap summary of the doc and maybe deviations from industry standards. If you're interested, I'd be happy to talk more about Franchising - I'm interested to learn how you found the re-sale deal.

Yeah, consider that franchisors generally have options among buyers. If you are a pain to work with (ie insisting on red lining their agreement) they will just move on to someone who is easier to work with.
