Fully outsourcing your search (or as close as possible)

I have a highly paid but very demanding job making about $650K/year.

Rather than quit to do a self-funded search, I was thinking of trying to outsource the search as much as possible and only break away from my job when an acquisition is close at hand. Has anyone tried this?

I've seen threads on searching while working full-time but I want to stretch this theme as much as possible in terms of employing others like buyside advisors, etc as I probably won't have the###-###-#### hrs/week that part-time searchers typically have available to pursue this.

I realize you can't completely outsource something like this but I'd value insights from others who have gone as far along on this spectrum as is feasible. Thanks!

As a former searcher, this is one of the reasons why I launched an acquisition search and advisory firm. Searching can be incredibly time-consuming and having a team to assist with devising a strategy and originating deals based on your goals is definitely a hack. My firm does this and assists with diligence, capital raising, and more. Reach out if you're interested in learning more.

Absolutely possible. Of course, it would take capital to make happen. It is something we would do on the buy-side including deal flow, etc. For me, our main advantage is the acquisition strategy focused on industries/companies that offer a greater degree of operational viscosity or ease of operations If you want to discuss, you can email me at redacted
