I'm curious about the experiences of other traditionally funded searchers who successfully raised a second round of search capital. I've heard that some of the big success stories - Dustin Sellers (ProService), Jim Vesterman (Raptor Technologies) - had to extend. Are there any other examples, especially recent ones? Any existing research available about this?

If you have enough emotional gas in the tank, conviction that your pipeline will produce a deal in a reasonable amount of time and you have the confidence of your investors as a resul of your search journey thus far, there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to raise a second round of search capital. Just need to think about the dilutive effect of addtional search capital, which should incentivize you to raise just enough to get a deal done.

Hi all, Tks Luke for the message but I believe we can successfully manage the acquisition within a single round, so I won't be able to assist on this topic.
