Hi all, Does anyone have direct experience in this sector in the UK, particularly in/around London? Is it already a crowded space? what are the main factors for success and failure? Thanks!

I don't have direct experience, but as a customer I can see that it is a very crowded space, as there are literally hundreds (of not thousands) of "man with a van" gas engineers/ plumbers around London.

As a mere customer in this market (we live in, and own a few rental properties, in London) it seems like a crowded space as you'll be competing with hundreds/thousands of "man with a van" gas engineers...
