Hi, Tldr; If you are an operator and want to chat about if or how you can use AI to automate internal processes, I am happy to talk it over with you, guide you in the right direction and discuss common pitfalls. Schedule a call here: https://cal.com/jan/30-min-chat I am the technical co-founder of a YC company and based in SF. I have a research background in robotics/computer vision and have worked across the whole tech stack from low level hardware development to frontend and backend of web applications. AI is at a level where you don't need complicated research to customize it for your use case. Instead in most cases you only need to stich off the shelf models together in a clever way. I am personally working on a solution to automate sales, service and support for manufacturing and distributor companies. Imagine if there is an AI that knows all your products extremely well, can guide your customer through the buying process and create quotes/pos. That's what I am trying to build. There is a lot of potential with AI but it's not obvious how to get real profit from it. It's not trivial to find use cases that also make sense from a business perspective. If an AI solution only works in 70% of the time, that might not be enough to actually save a full position. Now that solution costs money as well, so you end up paying the salary for the employee that is now only needed for 30% of their time and for the AI solution. Then it comes down to if the employee can work on other revenue generating tasks or not - that's not always possible. If you are an operator and are thinking about automating some of your processes, I am happy to help you think through it and either give you pointers on how to build it in-house or choose one of the many existing solutions. I personally lack connections in the industry and would love to get to know some of you and understand better how you think about problems. I don't want to sell you anything. I happy to just chat and exchange notes. Schedule a call here: https://cal.com/jan/30-min-chat

Hi Jan, I set up some time for us. I just closed on a light manufacturing company a couple weeks ago and am in the process of laying out the framework for how to move us into the AI age, primarily focused on developing cost estimates and quoting customers. I'm interested to hear your thoughts
