Getting Started. Advice on what steps to follow

Hello All,

It is a pleasure to join this community. I am just starting my journey. I am based in Washington, DC and I am hopeful I could get some advice on how to start.

I plan on self funding my search. I feel like this is a chicken vs egg conundrum. How much energy should be spent on searching for a company to acquire versus getting my financial stack (my money, bank financing, potential investors, seller financing, etc.)?

What is the typical make up of a search fund team. What energy should I spend into creating the PPM and other documents.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Don't be too impressed with anecdotal information. Do a deep dive into the credentials of people telling you they can help you. And focus more on the non-financials for business opportunities. Those tips can save you lots of time and aggravation. We can privately zoom if you would like to go deeper.
