I can speak from experience that I often have a hard time reflecting back and realizing when I have achieved a goal, as well as taking active steps to personally celebrate the achievement of goals.
A goal I had set for myself was investing in or buying a company to nurture and grow it.
In 2024 I was fortunate to achieve that goal through a direct investment into a small business. This was after financial failures in other investment/acquisition pursuits, which by virtue of the failure, actually opened the door and enabled achievement of this direct investment.
A very short list of a few takeaways from my experience:
1. As hard as you may be working to achieve a goal, if you miss in a big way, redirect the effort once you lose. You were working hard toward a goal that failed, now pick up and find the next opportunity. It is out there! Failure isn't final unless you let it be.
2. Find contrarians to your point of view! If you think an acquisition or direct investment is great, find trusted people to challenge you. There will be knowledge and truth in their analysis and potential skepticism, You don't have to STOP because of it, but you will be better informed as you take steps.
3. If you are seeking an opportunity, look into those 2nd and 3rd contacts you know. You never know who else in your network could be that one person you are looking for. I had overlooked an opportunity that even after seemingly letting the lead get cold, turned into a great opportunity.
I have learned many more things from###-###-#### As you look back on 2024, I hope you find successes, learn from failures, and step into 2025 ready to follow your best path forward! Good luck to you!
