If you're a searcher here to complain about brokers you're wasting your time and everyone else's who want to actually get deals done. If you're dealing with a "bad" broker you're not demonstrating you're worth their time and/or it's not a deal worth your time. Figure it out and quit complaining.

I've learned long ago, we cannot stop uneducated and inexperienced individuals purporting to be professionally qualified to be a broker or intermediary or M&A advisor or investment banker, but there are really good and qualified ones out there and working with them will get any searcher to a successful outcome quicker than others. Ask around, you'll find them.

I've experienced some very good brokers and some really bad ones as well. Some do a good job getting the best offer for their client, and some are more like gatekeepers that miss out on good potential buyers out of either laziness or some misguided belief that every good buyer can be boiled down to info a buyer data sheet.
The problem as a searcher is that if they're a bad broker, then you're jumping through many irrelevant hoops and not getting the information to make the best offer for the business. But even if the business is represented by a good broker, then there is also a very good chance you end up paying the 'winner's curse' by either overpaying or not identifying a risk that held others back.
That's why we prefer to source all our own deals, either directly or via a buy-side broker who focuses on direct outreach and not combing broker listings. From the searcher's perspective, direct access is ideal.
