Hello SF Family,

I hope this finds everyone well and safe. I am a searcher/investor thinking of starting an investment company that specializes in investing in traditional search methods. I’m about to start fund raising but I feel that this business model might not work. I want to give back to this community and try to help those of us searching to execute deals faster. Would love feedback from the community to see if this business model holds weight.

Thanks in Advance

As a searcher, I would be skeptical of you as an investor unless you have demonstrated experience in M&A or operating a small business, and a clear value-add beyond just capital. There is plenty of capital available, but having experienced investors that can actively guide and mentor you is usually the key to traditional searches.

I think I’d need more information about what you’re specifically trying to do. There is a lot of capital and family offices getting into it so would love to understand what you’re doing differently or similarly.
