Hey all!
I'm full-time in tech (day job)and I'm looking to buy a business - but I want to keep my day job. So I need to find someone awesome to run things day-to-day.
Anyone here done this successfully? I'm totally new to hiring operators and would love your advice! Specifically wondering:

What makes a great operator? Best places to find them? How did you handle pay/equity? Any horror stories or things to avoid?

I'm open to any industry, probably going the SBA route. Would especially love to hear from folks who've bought a business while keeping their main gig.
Thanks everyone!

Hey Daniel - I can't comment on the post-acquisition phase, but I'm building www.searchassistant.io to help streamline the deal identification and onboarding process to help people search effectively while still working full-time. We're launching in just a few months, but in the meantime, I'd love to connect to hear how you're planning to manage your search process. Will send a message.

Good places to find them include your personal network, LinkedIn, or specialized recruiting firms. If you're looking for an operator in a specific industry, check out industry-specific job boards or associations.
