I would love to hear about experiences of self-funded searchers who built a leadership team (operations/sales manager etc) either during LOI process or immediately post-close.

What are the pro's and con's of doing so based on your experience?

How did you go about the recruiting process?

What effect did those hires have on the business in the short term/long term?

Thank you!

I think you do it as soon as you possibly can, but not before you are reasonably confident that you understand your need and skill set to hire. On my particular deal, I needed to replace my seller and his #2. Once I got comfortable with my understanding of what those two key players did in the company and crossed off what I’d be doing myself, I was ready to hire my #2, which happened to be during DD, contingent on deal close. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to discuss.

Any advice on how to find a #2?
