I am curious about home health care businesses, among other things it has a "giving back" component in it.

It seems there is plenty of growth potential but this space is crowded by franchises. Interested in finding some data around # of franchises and non-franchise entities in-home health care how are they performing at a high level or any pointers would be helpful.

I am also curious if anyone has looked at a franchise resale and what were some of the lessons learned.

Hi Amby, I did a lot of research on this industry in 202o and looked at multiple Franchises. There is a lot of demand in this industry due to the baby boomer demographic, however, there is a lot of competition as well. The biggest challenge is caregiver turnover and finding reliable people. A lot of franchises I came across were setup to make money for the Franchise itself but not so much the Franchisee, although there are some good home care franchises out there.

Hi Amby, I’ve been in the home health care industry for 11 years. I agree with Anchit’s comments about franchises and I would add that your exit options are limited as well. But that is only a small part of the industry. Depending on what kind of business you want to run and what kind of problems you like to solve there may be more attractive options. I would be happy to chat sometime. I’m just thinking of launching my search and would appreciate making a connection with someone who recently took the plunge.
