IIBIS World is high level, general industry info. To get better, info, you are going to have to speak to people in the industry at various parts of the value chain. One of my friends works in the nuclear energy industry. He told me about an executive order which is forcing them to look into their supply chain causing a push in domestic electronic manufacturing. You might get the trend in IBIS report but the first hand knowledge, how its impacting the people working in the industry, and source documents you have to dig for.

Agreed, IBIS World is great for general directionality and dynamics, but you need to speak with people in the industry to get the latest information. These are the 'river guides' spoken about in the community. Find an experienced CEO or board member in your target industry and reach out. They're generally happy to help mentor entrepreneurs and give advice.
