I speak to a lot of dealmakers and one thing that seems to come up time and time again is that they struggle to understand what the financials of a business (that they want to buy) tells them.

I have developed my own evaluation tool which helps me to assess the recent performance of the business, put an initial valuation together, forecast ahead for the next 5 years (post completion) and then create suitable deal structures. It also calculates the costs of any finance required for the deal too.
