I have 2 trucking businesses that I am doing due diligence on. My question is how do I look for and approach investors to help finance sale?

I'm with Ronak on this one. You may not need to seek outside capital to buy those companies. I would first think about the following 2 options: 1) merge with those trucking companies you are doing due diligence on. Maybe you can both grow without money exchanging hands. The equity you would've given to any outside investor may be more appealing to the sellers of those companies if you merge. 2) if you really want to be 100% owner, explore a loan (SBA or not)...you may pledge a great deal of hard assets from your existing company as well as the ones you want to buy in order to not have to put much - if any - capital

David, it seems like you currently own a company and are looking to acquire more? That's somewhat of a unique position and may mean you need less or perhaps even zero additional outside capital, as certain lenders will count your current company as your equity infusion. Feel free to reach out if you want to talk details.
