I’m new to financial modeling and looking for a quick way to determine if a deal “pencils” in the pre-LOI stage without having to build out a large multi-tab model. Specifically for a self-funded search, I’m wanting to plug in values for preferred and common equity, debt, etc. and determine if it can hit required IRR and MOIC targets needed to garner external equity investment. Are there any simple models, formulas or resources to do this?

We are actually bringing a product to market that does exactly this! One of our key goals is to make models a painless experience for searchers. We expect to be live in October.
