Hypothetical Inexperienced Investor

investor profile

by an investor from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business in Lexington, KY, USA

Suppose the hypothetical investor existed:
- Mid 30's, 5 years out from a top-10 MBA program
- Operating family business in the Midwest, $15M Revenue in the manufacturing industry
- Capital available to invest with searchers, particularly interested in working with self-funded searchers who are ready to acquire and need additional capital
- Limited experience investing with searchers/operators
- Provide value to searcher/operator as a peer operator able to be more informal than more experienced advisors. High willingness to provide time and effort to support searcher/operator in whatever manner is needed.

Is there an appetite from this sort of investor? Is this type of investor common? What advice would you give this person?

I concur with Luke. There will be a lot of interest from Searchers. It will depend on what your investment criteria is. I think most would be interested in what experience and guidance you can bring to the table as well. If you get to a point where you are moving forward, please reach out. We have connections with a lot of searchers always looking for some additional capital partners. You can reach me at redacted

There is absolutely an appetite. You have operational experience as a leader, a great education and capital. As a matter of fact I'd love to get in touch as you sound like a very easy investor to work with. Feel free to reach out
