Identify strong buy-side brokers

Hi all,

I'm evaluating options for a self-funded search. I've seen a fair amount of posts regarding risks/advantages of partnering with a buy-side broker. Does anyone have advice on how to source a buy-side broker with a strong track record?

Does this typically happen through referrals? Certain websites?

If you can demonstrate you're a capable buyer connecting with a broker/s or firm/s to work with isn't an issue whether it's through a referral or otherwise
