I’m Zach Venning. I recently separated from the US Army after 10 years of service, 8 of which in special operations conducting psychological operations. I worked across South-East Asia working on many problem sets vital to strategic objectives. During my transition I interned at a middle market investment bank in Raleigh for little over a year and loved every minute of it. I’m interested in learning everything there is about searching and how to get started should I choose this route. I have completed an MBA in finance and am ready to start learning.

Zach- I've got a fair number of resources for veterans interested in search. 1. My podcast: https://theveteransemiprofessional.buzzsprout.com/ Check out Episodes: 142: May learn something about franchises 140 (Former Marine and self-directed searcher) 130: Steve Ressler is one of the founders of Search and Acquire as mentioned by Richard Wegner on here. Also recently started Brydon Group (https://www.brydon.com/for-searchers) 120: John got his start here on Searchfunder 109 for a lender's perspective 2. Few articles on my site: https://theveteranpro.com/34-ways-veterans-can-buy-a-small-business/ https://theveteranpro.com/investor-money-for-veterans/ 3. I know some funds that help back searchers or put them into a Operator role. Reach out for the intro.

Zach, great to meet you in the community. ^Live Oak Bank provides Sr. acquisition Debt and has a particular affinity for veteran CEOship. You should check out 51 Vets an organization dedicated to transitioning veterans taking the EtA path. In fact I was just part of a panel on Veteran Eta yesterday hosted by 51 Vets. Happy to make some introductions for you if of interest. Also happy to make some introductions with our happy veteran CEO clients if you'd like connections with your colleagues who've done it. redacted
