Independent Sponsor vs Traditional SearchFunder?

Hello all! I am considering switching to the independent sponsor model and will be attending a couple of upcoming conferences. However, I wanted to get some insights on this model vs the traditional searchfunder model. Pros and Cons? Thanks in advance!

As an IS, I think of myself more as a deal guy, someone interested more in investing in multiple deals and managing a portfolio. IS work ON businesses, whereas the searcher wants to work IN a business.
