Hi all, I am posting on behalf of a friend who has a maker space in NYC .

What is this audience's thoughts on owning maker spaces? What is appealing to you and what is a negative?

Just getting a sense of interest and thoughts on pros/cons of buying such a business. Thanks for your insights.

Maker spaces feel more like a real estate play than a 'business' in the typical sense. That being said, if you can buy the 'business' based on fundamentals and not real estate fundamentals, it might be nice (assuming you buy/own the RE)

Mike, happy to chat. I own a 9K/sf manufacturing facility in Chicago and have been part of different maker spaces in the past. I can walk you through the pros/cons and always interested in a good investment.
