Connect with Mark via LinkedIn: redacted About this role: - I’m looking for an ambitious intern to work directly with me on building Dataspace. We’re exploring a big question: can we build an AI system that continuously improves at finding customers and generating revenue for businesses? We’re applying this to traditional, fragmented industries, working with business owners and private equity firms to help their companies grow. - You’ll work at the intersection of AI, technology, and finance while developing one of the most valuable skills in business: the ability to sell. That means understanding markets, identifying opportunities, building relationships, and turning an initial conversation into a commercial outcome. - I believe this could be a career-defining experience for the right person. Whether you eventually want to build a startup, acquire a company, or work in private equity, you’ll get exposure to how businesses grow and how AI can change the way they operate. What you’ll do: - Research industries and companies to identify where Dataspace can create the most value - Help source and qualify potential clients, including business owners, PE firms, and acquisition entrepreneurs. - Develop and test outreach strategies across email and LinkedIn, improving targeting and messaging based on actual responses - Support sales conversations through research, meeting preparation, proposals, and follow-ups - Experiment with AI tools and workflows for research, prospecting, and campaign analysis - Help turn what we learn from campaigns and customer conversations into improvements to our product - Connect the dots: identify new opportunities, relationships, and partnerships, and take initiative in pursuing them As you develop, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of a defined industry, campaign, or strategic project, with direct feedback from me Who you are: - Excellent written and spoken English - Want to build a career at the intersection of AI/tech and finance, and are excited to develop strong sales skills - Have entrepreneurial ambitions and want to understand how to build and grow a business - Learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and can turn research into clear recommendations - Take ownership, follow through, and are comfortable working independently - Are willing to reach out to people, test ideas, and learn from rejection - Are organized and detail-oriented: you can think about the big picture while keeping track of the follow-ups - Prior experience in startups, sales, finance, or consulting is helpful but not required. Some coding (incl. vibe coding) skills are a plus Other information: - Location: Anywhere; fully remote but slight preference for US-based candidates - Hours: Part-timeredactedhours), with a schedule agreed around your availability - Compensation: Unpaid or paid depending on your commitment & experience - Development: Direct founder mentorship, regular feedback, and practical experience using AI to solve commercial problems
