Hi all, I’m new to the community and wanted to briefly introduce myself. My name is Dave Lewis, and I’m a 2016 Booth alum and US Army veteran considering a search. Most recently I’ve been working in a mix of technology product management and marketing (Amazon, Square). Prior to that, I was a consultant at BCG, where I focused on corp dev and strategy work spanning TMT, CPG, Financial Services, and Retail. Before b-school, I was an infantry officer in the US Army and lead a team of 35 soldiers during a combat deployment to Southern Afghanistan.
I’m early in the process, trying to determine if now is the right time in my career for a search. I would love to connect with current or recent searchers/CEOs to learn about your experiences. In particular, if you’ve gone through the process of winding down a search without making an acquisition or had an acquisition that resulted in a disappointing exit and would be willing to discuss those experiences, I’d love to chat. I’m also trying to “do my homework” (I’ve read the GSB primer, HBR guide, Jim Stein’s blog, etc.) and would love recommendations of other good resources that helped folks decide if search was right for them.
Thanks and I look forward to engaging with everyone!
