Intro to Community - Searcher - Philly Area - Accounting / Finance / CPA / Audit Background

New here to searchfunder as finally taking the leap to join the community and ready for my first acquisition. Maybe some rambling here, but a few questions and happy to start connecting if makes sense with anyone. Considering Helen Guo's SMB deal hunter program with the hope of guidance through the process and potential to jump start search opportunities. Any thoughts on that program or others are appreciated? I saw some mentions of this program and others within searchfunder but I could not dig up many comments. Read some of the books (Buy the Build, HBR) and been listening to podcasts. This has led me to focus on cash flow and what seems to be some of the standard characteristics that a lot are shooting for (diversified customer base, recession resistance, 3x-4ishx multiple), rather than focusing on a few industries that may work for me. That being said, would love any thoughts on that concept and why some would recommend focusing on specific Industries rather than a wider-based search. A potential “easy-route” would follow my experience which leads me to lean towards CPA/Accounting firms - ideally remote/virtual. Could add Fractional CFO / Controller work to current client base to add value. Would look to partner with CPA that has significant tax experience as that is not my specialty. Looking forward to connecting, reading, and learning.
