Hey everyone!

Wanted to introduce myself to the community. I'm start the journey as a searcher and currently in the learning phase. Have already read Buy Then Build, currently half way through the HBR guide and have gone through about 50+ episodes of Acquiring Minds and Think Big, Buy Small.

Anyone who has other resources they recommend for learning, please let me know!

My search and acquisition will be completely self funded. Location and Industry agnostic as of right now but starting the search in Florida, Texas, NC or NYC area.

Potentially looking for a strategic partner, who are just as hungry and motivated as me. Would love to connect with someone of you here!

Hey Kevin, welcome to the group. I am also in FL (Sarasota/Tampa Area). Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com/in/matthew-fitzgerald01). I did the Acquisition Lab as well, and I highly recommend it. You are reading the same books and listening to the same podcasts I did when I started my search, so you are on the right track! Some other great books that I read were: Walking to Destiny: 11 Actions An Owner Must Take to Rapidly Grow Value & Unlock Wealth - by Christopher M. Snider and Scott Snider This book really helped me understand what adds value to businesses and has played a big role in how I evaluate potential acquisitions. Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business by Gino Wickman - It's about the EOS system; if you are listening to Acquiring Minds, you'll hear many guests talk about EOS. It is a good book to understand what you will need to focus on post-close, and it's helped me look for some specific things when looking at potential acquisitions. Good luck with your search, and feel free to reach out anytime!
