Introduction and a note for searchers, brokers, and lenders.
Hey all! Quick intro since I have been lurking. Former Morgan Stanley equity research, private wealth, and VP of M&A Advisory at Acquisight. Now I exclusively ghostwrite outreach and email systems for the deal ecosystem, using a system I designed over the last several years. I got the spark for this as an M&A advisor when I found myself in the unique position of receiving inquiries and sending them at the same time. I was responsible for fielding hundreds of inquiries on listings in the lower middle market. At the same time, my firm was assisting two serial acquirers execute a roll-up strategy. This meant I was sending a ton of outreach as well. Extremely eye-opening (and tiring). But I was able to see what stuck out from both sides, and what immediately repelled. For searchers, that means owner outreach that reads like a legitimate operator wrote it. For intermediaries, it means value-first outreach and newsletters. Particularly, one newsletter that speaks to buyers, another that speaks to sellers and exit-curious owners. You don’t have to call it a newsletter - it’s just a valuable email for your audience running on a set cadence. For lenders, this is plain-English outreach and newsletters that make you the first call when a searcher needs debt. Same rules apply. The truth is that you can have all the AI prompts you like, but if they don’t build a relationship by eliciting real human emotion from the reader, it’s probably going to sound like everyone else. AI is awesome for efficiency and speed, and you should use it, but it must connect emotionally. I received tons of “ultra-personalized” messages, that I could immediately tell were AI-generated and mass emailed to me and a thousand other brokers. Easy to ignore. I'd recommend that you also offer something valuable. More than a 15-minute call. Lastly, from what I've seen, this is a full-time job. Most people simply don’t have the time or energy to do the volume it takes to see results. On both sides of the table. I nearly burned myself to the ground trying and have seen countless others do the same. In short, consistency, real value, and human connection is the name of the game. Happy to look at any outreach sequence, newsletter, or system that is underperforming, no charge. DM me!
