lunchline partners is a transformational independent sponsor focused on the lower-middle market. We acquire operating businesses in U.S. fragmented end markets, then drive value creation through operating transformations. We are looking for an intern to support our active deal pipeline, market research, and diligence work. This role is a strong fit for candidates interested in private equity, entrepreneurship through acquisition, search funds, AI-driven business transformation, or lower-middle market M&A. The lunchline team brings prior experience across top-tier investment banks, private equity and growth equity firms. Interns work directly with the Managing Partners, receive hands-on mentorship, and get exposure to our network of businesses, capital providers, and investment bankers. What You’ll Do You’ll work directly with firm principals across the full acquisition lifecycle, including: • Industry screening and thesis development in fragmented service sectors • Building value creation roadmaps for target industries and specific companies in the pipeline • Sourcing acquisition targets through brokers, intermediaries, and direct outreach • Building and maintaining proprietary deal-tracking, broker, and investor databases • Reviewing CIMs, teasers, financials, and other diligence materials • Drafting investment memos, market overviews, and industry deep dives • Supporting financial analysis, including revenue trends, margin analysis, SDE / EBITDA adjustments, and valuation multiples • Helping prepare investor and capital provider materials for active deals • Assisting on diligence workstreams across the active acquisition pipeline Qualifications Strong candidates will bring: • Demonstrated interest in investing, entrepreneurship through acquisition, private equity, or ai applied to operating businesses • Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills • High attention to detail and ability to drive workstreams independently • Comfort with Excel and basic financial modeling • Ability to synthesize ambiguous information into clear, decision-ready output • Curiosity about how AI changes the unit economics of services businesses • Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, search funds, or startup operations is helpful but not required Logistics • Compensation: Unpaid • Location: Remote (NY-based candidates preferred for occasional in-person work) • Preferred Start: June 1, 2026 • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week To apply, send a resume and short note on why you are a strong fit for this role and relevant experience. Also please include why you believe you might be more creative, work harder, and are differentiated from other candidates. This internship is unpaid and is structured as an educational opportunity, not employment. The role is designed to provide training and exposure comparable to what an intern would receive in an academic setting, complements rather than displaces the work of paid employees, and is intended for candidates who are receiving or eligible to receive academic credit through their educational institution. Both parties acknowledge there is no expectation of compensation, wages, or benefits at any point during or following the internship, and participation does not entitle the intern to a paid position with lunchline partners at its conclusion.
