Has anyone done research into acquiring companies in Ireland?
There are thousands of tech companies and I'd love to hear if anyone has had success finding and buying a company, and what the market place is like.

From what I can see on the market there is most 'media noise' in the VC-backed space, with a lot of focus upon angel, seed and series A stage companies, the scale of these investments would be smaller than USA and UK for sure.
Irish software companies typically have to race to get trading internationally as soon as they can as the indigenous market is not sufficient to support operations(and prospective profitable operations of) a medium size organisation(say 25 employees+, >€1 million recurring revenue annual).
Given the lack of. home market scale, irish vc backed startups raise and grow through those early phases at home but then seek to make the jump to USA and form Delaware entities and become American companies who then seek to raise chunkier future rounds(€20m+) from there.
Looking at your profile, Patrick, there are a few interesting areas of focus for you to zoom-in on(I'm guessing payments, crypto, blockchain and cloud).
I'll connect with you via DM to share a list of companies who would likely be a longlist of good leads for you to analyse.

Also https://www.dealsuite.com/ is being very active and used by many (but not all) of the M&A shops.
I hope that the resources above are helpful.
