Is it possible to get a salary from independent sponsorship or holdco model

Say if I am intending to acquire multiple businesses as an independent sponsor or a holdco. is it possible to get a salary like in traditional search while searching? thanks.

Salary is more typically expressed as a management fee in the IS model, thus tied more specifically to performance. For a Holdco it's possible after completing a number of acquisitions to justify a salary in order to manage services provided to the portfolio companies, but not from the start.
