I am fairly new to search funds and am desperate to learn more. I was basically just wondering if search fund acquired companies tend to see more success if they are within specific industries?

Like the stock market, if everyone does the same thing long enough that move no longer makes sense. Do what you can live with, manage, and understand.

From my personal research and experience it seems there is no clear answer on the 'best industry'. What matters most is what Warren Buffet would say, only invest in what you know - there are people acquiring various blue collar industries and white collar industries and having great success in both but it all depends on what YOU know about that industry to begin with. As an investor, your financial intelligence in a specific niche is more important than anything else - if you don't have a portfolio of knowledge to enter a specific niche then I would recommend scouring this forum until you find an industry that sounds interesting to you and doing research or joining one of the various group chats for that industry's search funding.
