Anyone have experience doing a rollup of IT services firms?

I have a friend looking to connect with someone who's done 1-2 acquisitions. He's bootstrapped his current firm serving SMBs up to this point and debating some tuck ins. Thanks!

The MSP Business Evaluator is currently getting a face lift, and I will provide a discount for Search Funders when it is released. However You can download the current one that is available for FREE - Link to Evaluator on Website: 1. www.BizAdvisoryBoard.com 2. On the top menu bar select “Resources” 3. Click on the selection “Business Evaluator” 4. Click on the Button “Download it for FREE” 5. Follow the directions

The new version will have additional details and multiples for the Strategic and Financial buyer, and also EBITDA

For the SearchFunders I will also provide you with 30 minutes to review your opportunity.

When I was a broker, the sellers looked for 1x sales, but buyers looked at 3x to 6x EBITDA, depending on size, mgt., geography, etc. Bridging that gap is perilous. The big challenge in all roll-ups (an many acquisitions in general) is post-sale integration. Investing in a consultant who has done that, or at least has a solid process may save your friend a lot of headaches. Your friend may also want to look at www.SuccessionMatching.com to find businesses to buy. He can Register for free as a VC or contact me: redacted
