Hey everyone, I’m exploring software options to better manage job and appointment scheduling across a few trades businesses (commercial painting, furniture install, refrigeration, etc.). Specifically, I’m looking for a tool that: • Provides clear visibility into the entire schedule (jobs, teams, timelines) • Makes it easy to move things around when delays or changes come up (e.g., materials not ready, install rescheduled) • Works well for field-based work where flexibility and coordination are critical • Has been successfully used in commercial painting or similar install-heavy trades If you’ve implemented a scheduling or dispatch tool that’s really helped streamline your operations, I’d love to hear what you’re using and what you’ve learned. Thanks in advance and I really appreciate any recommendations or insights from the group

^redacted‌ I run a venture studio specifically focused on AI solutions for traditional businesses, incl. trades businesses. Re: scheduling software, I'm aware of https://buildops.com/ , https://www.fieldpulse.com/, and https://www.servicetitan.com/ . We haven't tested either of these but happy to have a chat and see if we can help you implement an appropriate solution

Following as I'm interested in what folks say. I ran a shower remodeling business with several elements of coordination, including internal crews, inspections, material, and subs. We reviewed a few options and eventually settled on Service Fusion (mostly because it allowed us to be compliant with CA timekeeping laws, not really because it was good at what we needed it to do). I was constantly searching for an alternative but could never find one that worked well for project-based work but also included internal labor scheduling. BuilderTrend and Zuper are others I've seen used in a similar space. Salesforce Field Service was the gold standard but far too expensive for a small business.
