Has anyone pursued deals in the job shop/ manufacturing services spaces? For example, I have seen a few of the following and would love to connect with those who have experience directly with these types of businesses. Specifically, most of the businesses I have engaged with have been ~1M EBITDA.

- metal plating, anodizing etc
- injection molding companies
- polyurethane molding companies

I closed on a $5M annual revenue manufacturer in the barstock machining business. It’s a good sector fit for me but I will warn you of one thing- beware the working capital needs. You will need a lot starting out. By the time you buy the material on net 30, machine it, ship it and invoice on net30 your net 30 for payment quickly becomes net 90 or similar.

I currently own and operate a medical precision machining business focused on complex medical devices. I was institutional PE for ~13 years and acquired the business as an independent sponsor. There are a lot of people with experience in job shops, some in machining, but I haven't seen a ton of medical done via ETA. Happy to connect if you think worthwhile.
